At Soneva Fushi, enjoy Japanese cuisine from the three-starred Michelin chef Kenji Gyoten from the restaurant Sushi Gyoten in Fukuoka, Japan. There is a six-month waiting list to dine in his restaurant but skip the queues and dine with him at Soneva Fushi for lunch and dinner between August 18 – 29.
Chef Sobah, multiple recipient of the ‘Best Chef in the Maldives’ award, offers traditional local cuisine to our guests, including the unique method of pit cooking fish in the sand. All the fresh fish we serve at Soneva Fushi comes to us fresh daily from a local fisherman named Rocket.
Also in August, we have a second three-starred Michelin chef on-site, the French chef Christian Le Squer, who will bring the flavours of Brittany to the Maldives between August 11 – 25, 2018. Later in the month we will welcome the two-starred Spanish chef Kiko Moya (from August 25 – September 01), who offers dishes with the aromas and textures of game, of handmade sausages, of mushrooms, and fish such as sea bass, cod or tuna.
Our recommended experience not to be missed is an afternoon lunch or dinner on the sandbank with soft sand under your feet while learning more about the stars with our resident astronomer. Dine on Middle Eastern favourites such as roasted lamb, fish and other meats, while listening to the waves crash on the shoreline.
At Soneva Jani, Chef Joe Barza, the renowned Lebanese Masterchef and a co-host of the TV program Top Chef, will be preparing traditional Lebanese cuisine. Furthermore, dine with Chef Zuhair, our Maldivian maestro who specialises in local cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, or alternatively enjoy the delights of Chef Gaston, who brings the tastes of Peru to the Maldives. Don’t miss his seafood classics and his famous cervice!
Chef Kengo, our Executive Sous Chef from Japan, will be showcasing his 23 years of experience in the kitchen preparing Japanese, Spanish and international cuisine.
