In Partnership with MICHELIN Guide

Throughout the Festival of Colour 2019, some of the world's most celebrated and decorated chefs, all of whom have come from Michelin-starred restaurant, will be hosting highly exclusive dinner events at Soneva properties, each for a maximum of eight resort guests at a time. It is the first time that the MICHELIN guide has done any kind of event in the Maldives. The partnership is also designed to appeal to the international foodie scene and cement Soneva's reputation as an epicurean destination. To read more about the visiting chefs,  click here.

Once Upon a Table

International
A culinary theatre showcasing some of the biggest names in fine dining. There is no menu, allowing the creativity and skills of the chef to take centre stage.

Take your pick from bountiful buffet, offering freshly cut fruits, baked goodies, a salad room, wood-fired pizzas, and Soneva’s ubiquitous ice cream and chocolate rooms.

Sobah's Restaurant

Maldivian
Open for dinner two nights a week
Dine on Maldivian fare on the sands of an uninhabited island, a 15-minute speedboat ride away from Soneva Fushi. Chef Sobah, an award winning chef, uses traditional cooking methods to prepare dishes with ingredients he forages for and catches around the island.

Out of the Blue

Open all week for lunch and dinner
Dine on Vietnamese and Indonesian cuisine, salads, grilled meats and seafood. This area also includes: So Hot - a robata grill, josper grill and pizza area; So Guilty - the chocolate and ice cream parlours; So Fresh - the first overwater organic greenhouse in the Maldives; and So Cheesy - our cheese room.

So Hands On

Japanese
Open for lunch and dinner on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays
Open from February 4 - May 7 and from October 1 - onwards
So Hands On is our overwater sushi counter, which is run in partnership with Chef Kenji Gyoten, one of only a handful of three-starred Michelin chefs from Japan, whose restaurant in Fukuoka has a waitlist of almost a year. The hinoki counter top is made from Japanese pine polished by sake. With quality ingredients and expert chefs, we aim to offer the best sushi outside of Japan.

Culinary showmanship with unending vistas of the Baa Atoll and beyond. So Bespoke, Soneva Fushi’s open-air Teppanyaki table, is headed by Chef Gede Sujana.

The practice of sharing food is a primal bonding ritual. We sought to recreate this intimacy with dishes made for sharing.

Shades of Green

Plant-based Maldivian and Southeast Asian with Nordic cooking techniques

Open for dinner Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Danish Chef, Carsten Kyster celebrates the garden with five-course menus featuring colours, green umami or one ingredient prepared various ways. The evening begins at 18:30 with a tour of the garden. Pick, feel, taste and smell the ingredients for your meal and discover amuse bouches hidden among the greenery. Gather around the fire pit for the first course, before being seated beneath the pergola and fruit trees.

 

As a food obsessive, I have to say that the dishes at Soneva Fushi are extraordinary. I became embarrassed at how often my family, me included, kept refilling our plates. Then we were gently encouraged to visit the 'chocolate room', a chilled space filled with dozens of confectionery creations. My children wept.

Indulge your sweet tooth with over 60 rotating flavours of homemade ice creams and sorbets. Try the classics or get adventurous with flavours like: coconut and avocado; strawberry, aged balsamic and green olive; and noni and hibiscus.

…my visit at soneva fushi was coming to a culinary paradise, with the best maldivian dishes by chef sobah, amazing flavourfull thai food, a unique japanese sushi experience by Chef Kenji, i had the best pizza of my life and still dreaming about the ice cream room, that was open 24/7. honestly i want to be back to that paradise, as soon as i could...

Choose from our extensive selection of gourmet hams, cold cuts, cheeses and preserves - ideal for a pre-dinner tasting session. So Delicate is complimentary during breakfast and buffet meals at Mihiree Mitha, but chargeable at any other time.

Dream up your own menus with our executive chef, and have your meal set out on our sandbank, deep in the jungle or in your villa. The choice is yours.

In-Villa Dining

Take advantage of your tropical living spaces with breakfast, lunch, dinner or late-night treats all in the privacy of your villa. Choose from our extensive In-Villa Dining Menu or ask one of our chefs to create a bespoke menu for you.

Special Diets

Be your needs allergy related or rooted in your religion or culture, at Soneva we can cater to your dietary requirements. All we need is time to plan ahead, so don’t hesitate to let Reservations know of any special preparations that you need or foods that you don’t eat in advance.

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful our time at Soneva Fushi was. As a vegan, I have never experienced food on this level before when eating out. I had so many options and I felt so energised and healthy throughout my entire stay. We were lucky enough to experience the new Out of the Blue restaurant while we were there - it was superb!

Having stayed in Soneva Kiri last year, we thought we had found paradise, but it appears that Sonu and Eva have managed to work their magic at Soneva Fushi too. From luxurious villas nestled in the jungle, yet on the beach, to relaxed dining in the sand eating the most amazing freshly produced meals imaginable. If you have a bucket list, put this on it.

We stayed for three nights and had dinner at all three of the amazing restaurants. The garden restaurant is a beautiful place and such a unique experience. Do a little stargazing after dinner or visit the open air cinema to really close off the night well.

From the moment we arrived at Soneva Fushi, our experience was outstanding! What made it the best was the friendly staff and fresh, organic food. Every morning we were greeted by the lovely Fatima with fruit juice shooters. Her smile alone was a great way to start the day. Alongside her were all the wonderful chefs and waiters, especially Chef Pinto, who made our stay all the more special. Another must is the dinner at the beautiful Mihiree Mitha.
