The Soneva Foundation supports the development of projects that have a positive environmental, social and economic impact. You can now buy Gold Standard carbon credits to fund our continued distribution of fuel-efficient cook stoves to improve the lives of families in Myanmar.
We founded the Soneva Foundation to deliver meaningful projects that have a positive environmental, social and economic impact, and importantly, to offset carbon emissions from resort activities and guest flights.
The Soneva Foundation uses impact-investing principles, seeking to recover outlays through carbon finance, which in turn will be fed back into projects to help extend the reach and benefits to more families.
We work at a community level to bring tangible change to people’s lives while simultaneously working with global leaders to shape policy. We teach Maldivian children to swim safely in the ocean while also providing safe drinking water to 750,000 people around the world.
We have provided 230,000 people in Darfur and Myanmar with fuel-efficient stoves that reduce deforestation and deathly indoor air pollution. The cook stoves supplied by the Soneva Foundation reduce wood consumption by 50%, air pollution by 80% and CO2 emissions by 60%.
We have planted over 500,000 trees in Thailand, creating over 300 acres of rich biodiverse forest and mitigating over 250,000 tonnes of CO2.
